Long time since last update

21 Jul

It’s been a while since I last wrote something. I’ve completed my initial laser treatment for my tinnitus. I did a total of 9 treatments at the clinic (were supposed to do a total of 10 but got sick), each took about 35-40 minutes where I had 8 minutes of 808nm 450mW and 20minutes of 650nm 35mW directly into the ear canal. Then I got a few minutes of treatment with a 904nm 240mW superpulsed multiprobe laser on the muscles around the ear.

I also treated myself at home with my own lasers during these 5 weeks, about 30 minutes of 780nm 90mW two times a week and 660nm 50mW three times a week.

What I can say about the result of the treatment so far is that I’ve allot of ups and downs, from time to time my tinnitus has been very low but at periods of time It’s also been extremely defined and loud and also at times it changes constantly in pitch and volume.

For the last week it’s been high in volume but keeps changing during the day, I had a moment today when I got this I’m not sure what is called but it’s when you get this ringing noise in the ears for just a second and then it goes away again, anyhow I got this for about 20 seconds where I got a bit of ringing in my left ear and my tinnitus almost completely gone in the right ear.

It’s been a week now since I had my last treatment. I will write here on occasion and report back on what’s going on.

I will continue treatment in about a month from now,  I’ve decided to rent my own lasers for 6 months to start with and then buy it if I feel like it will be worth it . I will be renting the same equipment used at the clinic but only one of each probe because of the costs of these products.

The post has gotten quite long now so I will sign of here! ciao

First treatment

14 Jun

Today i went to my first laser treatment at a clinic since I were in Norway about two years ago. The lady in charge of the clinic was very friendly and had much experience from different kinds of laser treatments.

We started of with using a 808nm laser for 10 minutes, then a 650nm laser for 8 minutes both directly into the ear with the help of a glasfibre staff directed into the ear and lastly a 904nm laser used behind and around the ear.

Were a few days since I last wrote now. I’ve been having quite a good time the last few days, been coding away one one of my website project and it’s going quite good. I’ll show it to you all later :)

This last Friday I had one of my best female friends over, we watched a movie and had a very nice time. We decided we should have a sleep over someday, think it will be tomorrow, looking forward to it!

My tinnitus is still changing in sound and level, the noise is quite high pitch and strong but not at the same intensity that it has been. Some times during the day I get these moments for just a few seconds where the noise goes up allot but then immediately  settles down again.

About two weeks left until I start a new treatment period with stronger lasers at a new clinic I found. I will be doing two 30 minute treatments each week, with a 808nm , 450mW laser and a Superpulsar 904nm, 240mW laser.  I will be accompanying this treatment with my own lasers also, I’m thinking about using my 66nm 3-5 each days each week during this period and my 780nm laser about 2 times each week.

Hopefully this treatment will give good results :)

Still going

The variations in tinnitus sound and level is still going on, this is a very good sign and hopefully it will heal allot during the coming weeks.

Action

19 Maj

There is definitely some action going on right now, i have this sharper tone and the noises are constantly changing from day to day and during the day.

Progress?

18 Maj

When I woke up today I noticed that my tinnitus on the right ear was much sharper in sound, but at the same time it feels quite pleasant. I guess it’s the last three days of LLLT I’m starting to feel the effect of.

Also started to take Ginkgo Biloba yesterday, hope it will help my recovery in a positive way.

I’ve found a clinic nearby that has some powerful lasers what could help me in my recovery, they have three different lasers one 650nm, one 808nm 450mW  and one 904nm superpulsar 240mW. I’m not yet sure what the lasers looks like tough and if they have two of each so I can treat both ears at the same time.

Pleasant

16 Maj

The tinnitus is quite pleasant today. Although I feel a bit more sensitive than usual and my right ear has been hurting a bit. Probably nothing to worry about. I’ll be using my ear protection most of the day today.

I’ve been thinking about starting my LLLT again this week but I’m not sure. Maybe I should let it rest for another week. It was just about more than a week ago that I stared the break.
